UPS - Uninterruptible Power Supply - (or CPS) are devices which maintain a continuous supply of electric power to connected equipment by supplying its own power when utility power is not available. It provides power without interruption making it more suitable for computers and sensitive electrical equipment. They are commonly used to provide uninterrupted power to equipment for 1–20 minutes until a generator can be turned on or utility power is restored.
