Sun-1200 12V 1200W Power Inverter

Soft Start 12V 1200 Watt Power Inverter. Modified sine wave output. Reduced noise on output, suitable for most electronic items.

This is our own version of this product made to our specifications.

On start-up for a short time the Sun-1200 1200 Watt 12V power inverter can actually output up to 2400 watts, this is to allow for the initial power surge that you get with many appliances.

Typical uses would be for TVs, DVD players, stereos, low wattage microwave ovens, lighting, low and medium wattage power tools etc.

When working at full power these inverters draw a very large current – over 100 amps. If the supply voltage drops to 10.5v there is a high pitched audible warning. If the voltage drops to 10v the inverter switches itself off . This is to protect the batteries from being completely flattened and potentially leaving you stranded.

Power Requirement - the voltage will fall if the battery or batteries being used to power the inverter are not big enough, the leads or connections are not good enough or the batteries need recharging. Problems with this inverter are very rare, but if in doubt check the voltage input to the inverter. If the batteries are charged by an engine (car or boat), it can help to have the engine running when using a large load.

This is a modified sine wave inverter, which means it is fine for most applications. But, do not use it with fluorescent lighting. For capacitive loads (such as fluorescent lighting) it is better to use a Pure Sine Wave Inverter. It is also not suitable for some AC/DC fast chargers such as those used to charge cordless drills.

Inverters are temperature sensitive, in use they create heat and their capacity depends on their ability to dissipate this heat. Allow good ventilation. Operating ambient temperature 5 to 25 degrees Celsius. Above 20 degrees the power capacity drops off.

Please do not attempt to use this inverter with hair dryers or hair straighteners.
